Dallas News, "Southwest, Boeing settle suit over death"

Southwest Airlines Co. and Boeing Co. settled a lawsuit by the family of a 6-year-old boy killed when one of Southwest's planes ran off the end of a Chicago runway and struck a car. Both companies declined to provide details of the settlements with Lisa and Leroy Woods of Leroy, Ind. Their son, Joshua, was killed in the Dec. 8, 2005, accident. "We believe this settlement brings a tragic and difficult situation to a close," said Beth Harbin, a Southwest spokeswoman. The family's attorney didn't return a call seeking comment.
