WHIO-TV, "Kentucky Fatal Plane Crash May Prompt
Delay By Delta"
Delta Airlines
has announced that because of the crash investigation in
Lexington, Ky., it
might ease up on Comair.
Meanwhile,
industry experts said Sunday's Comair crash that killed
49 people is unlikely to discourage passengers from flying
either the regional carrier or its parent, Delta, in the
long term.
Just days before the crash,
bankrupt Delta put Comair on notice that it had requested bids to operate
some of its regional jet service, setting a Sept. 18 deadline.
The move renewed pressure on Comair to get cost cuts from
its unions.
Comair
is based in the Cincinnati suburb of Erlanger, Ky.
