Bloomberg News, "Delta Air Regional Jet Crashes in Kentucky; 49 Dead"

          A Delta Air Lines Inc. Comair commuter plane crashed shortly after takeoff at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Kentucky, killing 49 and critically injuring one.
          One man was admitted in critical condition to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, said hospital spokeswoman Gail Hairston. Comair officials declined to say whether the survivor was a passenger or crew member. The plane carried 47 passengers and a crew of three.
          Comair, based in Cincinnati, declined to speculate on the cause of the accident. The 50-seat Canadair CRJ-100, purchased new from planemaker Bombardier Inc. in 2001, underwent routine maintenance as recently as yesterday, Don Bornhorst, Comair president, said at a news conference. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board investigators were traveling to the crash site.
          "We are absolutely totally committed to doing everything humanly possible to determine the cause of this accident," Bornhorst said.
